It was love at first sight when we laid eyes on the amazing oversized, billowy, ruffled frills adorning the Fall 2010 runway @ Fendi. We immediately wanted one and just couldn’t imagine having to wait another several months to actually see these frills materialize. With some research, persistence, and umpteen botched attempts, we finally figured out a fail-proof pattern.
You’ll need:
– 2 pieces of wool felt
– 2 pin backs
– a few buttons
– a few pins
– a hot glue gun
– a sewing machine
– a pair of fabric shears
– an iron
– our frill pattern
For a fuller and longer frill, print the pattern as it is on 11″ x 17″ paper at 100%. For a smaller frill, reduce the size of the pattern and print on normal 8.5″ x 11″ paper. Carefully cut out the volute-shaped pattern, stack, and pin onto the two pieces of stacked felt. Using the pattern as a guide, cut out the felt. While keeping the two pieces of felt stacked, pull the two pointed ends taut. A ruffle will be created on one side and a straight line on the other. (Click images to enlarge)
Sew the felt together along the straight side, with a 1/4″ inseam, down to the end. Trim any extra threads. Open the frill. Spread the seam apart on the backside and press it open using the tip of a hot iron.
Run a zig zag stitch down the center of the front side of the frill. This will keep the back seam open and flat, giving the frill structure and shape. Glue or sew buttons along the front stitch. Flip the frill over and glue or sew a pin back at the top and another at the bottom.
Recomendation:
Pin the frill to any blouse, shirt or dress. Make it smaller, make it larger, add less buttons, add more buttons . . . make it to your liking and have fun!

Ce fut l’amour à première vue quand on a posé les yeux sur l’étonnante surdimensionné, houleuse, ornant fioritures ébouriffé l’automne 2010 la piste regarde Fendi. Nous avons immédiatement voulu un et ne pouvais pas imaginer d’avoir à attendre encore plusieurs mois pour voir réellement ces fioritures matérialiser. Avec quelques recherches, la persistance et je ne sais combien les tentatives bâclées, nous avons finalement trouvé un modèle infaillible. Et évidemment, nous sommes le partager avec vous!
Vous aurez besoin:
– 2 morceaux de feutre de laine
– 2 broches dos
– Quelques boutons
– Quelques épingles
– Un pistolet à colle chaude
– Une machine à coudre
– Une paire de ciseaux de tissu
– Un fer à repasser
– Notre modèle jabot
Pour un plus ample et plus jabot, imprimer le motif que c’est le 11 “x 17” à 100%. Pour une petite collerette, réduire la taille du motif et imprimer sur la normale 8.5 “x 11”. Découpez soigneusement le motif en forme de volute, pile, et la broche sur les deux morceaux de empilé sentir. L’utilisation du modèle comme un guide, découpez le feutre. Tout en gardant les deux morceaux de feutre empilés, tirez les deux extrémités pointues tendue. Un volant sera créé sur un côté et une ligne droite sur l’autre. Cousez le feutre ensemble le long du côté droit, avec un 1 / 4 “entrejambe, jusqu’à la fin. Garniture des threads supplémentaires. Ouvrez le jabot. Étendre la couture en dehors à l’arrière et appuyez sur l’ouvrir en utilisant la pointe d’un fer chaud.
Exécuter un zig zag au centre de la face avant de la collerette. Cela permet de garder la couture dos ouvert et plat, donnant à la structure et la forme jabot. Collez ou coudre des boutons le long de la couture avant. Retournez le jabot et de la colle plus ou coudre une épingle de retour au sommet et un autre en bas.
Votre Fendi inspiré volant est finito!
Pin le jabot d’une chemise, la chemise ou une robe. Faites-en plus petits, la rendre plus grande, ajouter moins de boutons, ajouter plus de boutons. . . le faire à votre guise et amusez-vous!
